CONTRACTORS INSTITUTEThe Contractors Institute of Florida offers a three day specialized training program titled "Certified Residential Wind Load Design Technician." The class includes 3 days of classroom and workshop instruction to ensure your training to competently calculate wind loads on residential structures as they fall within the guidelines of the SSTD 10-99 prescriptive code. The discussions during part of the class touch on the use of continuous sheathing as a means of resisting both shear and uplift loads. Charts and tables within the SSTD 10-99 document are utilized and are a validation of the effectiveness of our Windstorm panels and their methodology.
